Welcome! I am a political science Ph.D. candidate at the University of Notre Dame. In my research, I study gender in American Politics, particularly in legislative institutions. I am a member of the Representation of Women Lab and the Representation and Politics in Legislatures Lab at Notre Dame.Â
My dissertation examines how having more women in state legislatures impacts legislative behavior. Specifically, I study how increases in the number of women in U.S. state legislatures impact women's and men's bill sponsorship, effectiveness, and cosponsorship, as well as the content of the legislation they work on.
In other research projects, I examine women's ambition for local office, the repercussions of legislators' denials of the 2020 election results, voter preferences for vice presidential candidates, and the effect of Covid-19 on women's publishing. You can find my work in journals such as Politics, Groups, and Identities and PS: Political Science and Politics.
